What is cloud computing

 What is cloud computing?

Cloud computing is the delivery of computing services, including servers, storage, databases, networking, software, analytics, and intelligence, over the internet. Here are some key points to understand about cloud computing:

  • Cloud computing allows access to computing resources from anywhere, at any time, as long as you have an internet connection.
  • Instead of owning and maintaining your own hardware and infrastructure, you can rent computing resources on an as-needed basis from a cloud service provider.
  • Cloud computing is typically offered through three service models: Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).
  • SaaS provides access to software applications that are hosted in the cloud, such as Google Docs or Microsoft Office 365.
  • PaaS provides a platform for developers to build, run, and manage their own applications in the cloud, such as Google App Engine or Heroku.
  • IaaS provides virtualized computing resources, such as servers, storage, and networking, that can be rented and configured by users, such as Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure.
  • Cloud computing can offer cost savings, scalability, flexibility, and ease of use, compared to traditional on-premises computing.
  • Examples of cloud computing services include Dropbox, Google Drive, iCloud, Zoom, Netflix, and Salesforce.
